We started on the left side and it came out at a mild loss, 25-40DB's. He sat well for the tympanogram so that worked well. He did have quite a bit of negative pressure in that ear. This of course would affect his hearing. Christine said that Allergies can cause this. He failed the OAE in the Left, but he wouldn't sit still here so the results are fairly unreliable.
The right side he seemed to be done. He was not focused at all, and wanted to just play. I did bring his ear mold though so we were able to get a better response from him after I remembered that. His loss here she said showed about 20-15DB's. However she wasn't completely convinced so she said the reliability was only fair. His tympanogram showed normal in his right ear, which hasn't happened in a long time. Usually he is full of fluid. He only got 4/8 on the OAE so again failed this one. The reliability here seemed better.
We'll be going back in three months.

sorry to hear that
as you know for Jason, the better you get, the more you'll gain
Thanks Emma!
Hopefully some day we'll be able to get a good response. I just wish they would say YES, he has a loss enough for his Aid. Or No, we think he should not use one. Instead nobody really knows......
Mel, it looks better than last time. As you said, until he learns how to respond, how will the reliability ever be without question?
Think positive.
