Something I forgot about my Birthday

My 10 year old gave me a pretty cool Birthday present and he doesn't even realize that he gave it to me. I was half asleep and the kids had gotten up to get ready for school. What I heard was, "Thank You!!" I woke up smiling. He was saying Thank You for his clean underwear. He told me the day before that he was out of underwear so I did a load of laundry and put them in his drawer. I know it shouldn't be that big of a deal, but that has been one of my problems with house work. No one notices it's done until it's not.

Then Samantha was going to the Zoo with her kindergarten class. I of course didn't know about this until the night before. She was supposed to have her school t-shirt and me being unprepared didn't think that was going to happen. I looked in her drawer and low and behold it was there!!!! Another smile and an ounce of appreciation from my kids.

My little sister took the girls for a sleep over later, and again my thoughts were they won't be able to because I won't have clothes and pajamas and underwear. But I've been trying to stay up on the laundry so I was able to pack them clothes and get them ready to go.

I've been attempting to follow FlyLady for about 5 years now and have failed miserably!!! I think I'm starting to get it though. I made a list of things that I feel should be done everyday. It's titled "House Wife Responsibilites", although that doesn't mean that I'm the only one cleaning. Now of course they aren't getting done everyday but at least they are getting done every once in a while. I even color code my day, I know I'm totally lame!!!! I've contemplated taking pictures of the completed project and then putting stickers on the picture to give myself a reward when the picture is all filled up. I guess whatever works right?

Well it was a pretty satisfying day. I'm going to try and continue with what I'm doing and hope for some more progress...

LOL!!!! I think that is a great idea! I am the same way with laundry by the way. I always know when I need to do laundry because Kenny will tell me he is all out of something. In fact.. that's what I'm doing all today.
