Soccer

Yesterday was FREEZING!!!! I can't believe the stuff we do for our kids. This is what the mountains looked like when we first got to the field.
And I made Duncan take his uniform off and put it over his jacket. At first he thought I was trying to give him frostbite. However he was grateful for it during the game.
They won the game 7-0!!!! The other team did only have 9 players, so I feel bad about that. I think our boys really needed a touch of success. So it's awesome!!!

Duncan played really well. He ran, and ran, and ran, and ran!!

The ref was awesome by the way! This year so far we have had some pretty good guys reffing. It has been quite enjoyable not feeling like the ref threw the game away for us.

Silly School Stuff

We talked about Germs today. We have had a lot of kids out of school lately, mine included. So I thought it would be a good idea to go over the proper way to sneeze and cough. We made these awesome germs. I thought they turned out pretty cute.

Easter Picture

My sister brought her camera so I made her take our picture. It was kind of a hurry.....take the picture before the kids mess up their church clothes.....kind of picture. It looks ok, but I can tell I was the only one who wanted to have pictures taken. The kids just wanted to be playing with their cousins. Well, I tried. =)

Thanks Leslie!

Jason fell asleep on the kitchen floor. Poor baby doesn't feel good.

Convenience Store

We got a new bell on the door, for a whole $5.00. It really does sound like a convenience store, especially when the older kids are going in and out of the house all day. However, it has saved me quite a bit of stress and heart ache over the last few weeks. Jason just went outside twice in 10 minutes. Without the bell who would have known where he would have taken off to the first time.

The reason he went out twice is I wasn't fast enough getting him dressed for his own taste. I got his pants on and went to go get his shoes and he went back outside. So I brought him back inside and put his shoes on. Then he heard the train 5 minutes later and so we are back in the house.

The bell has been a good thing for us. I just wish it didn't sound QUITE so annoying. =)

Jason

My sweet baby is still not feeling well. He was sick yesterday and now I suspect he has a migraine. Why a migraine? Because he has been covering his eyes all day. I took him up to my in-laws house to watch him while I walked with Duncan at school. When I got back he was asleep on their couch. My Mother-in-law, being smarter then me, said I think he has a head ache and a sore throat. DUH!!!!! How often have I complained about migraines? We got out to the car and he covered his eyes again. So I put Samantha's poncho over his head. He didn't move it until we got home. Poor kid!
I gave him some ibuprofen and the little bugger is back to normal.

Easter Celebrations

Easter as all holidays can be crazy. We did enjoy ourselves however. We finished our baskets and tied bows on the tops. Yellow for girls, Blue for boys. They were kind of cute. The kids did enjoy them.

Saturday we went to Grandma Siddoway's for the annual Easter Egg hunt. We got there and hung out while we waited for everyone to show up. As you can see Jason could have cared less about the intense crowd gathering.
Grandpa Siddoway always has to lay down the rules before the insanity ensues.
I don't think we got one face shot of Samantha. She never stops, always on the go.
Tori is always very serious about her egg hunting.

Duncan's main goal was to find the eggs with the money in them. I'm not sure when he became so money hungry. I think he was just born that way.

We had a lovely dinner on the deck. It was actually nice enough to be out there. It was fun to see the boys all hanging out together.Jason LOVES watermelon.
The older kids left the gate open to the "Tiger Tribe". It's what they call their little spot behind Grandma and Grandpas house. Now Jason knows there is more back there then he thought. =(
They also left the doors to the pool office open. Once again, another way to get behind the house.
However, he did really enjoy the cup stacking. That might have to be a gift for his birthday.
Jason walked into the front room and looked at Alaric. He walked over to him and shoved a piece of candy in his mouth. I love Alaric. He is such a good kid to put up with my little monkey.
One of the eggs had silly putty in it. Duncan thinks he's really funny!
Jason completely crashed. Saturday was just a little too much for him.
Sunday we spent the day at my folks house. We had another Easter egg hunt. It shouldn't have been quite as chaotic since there was half the number of kids compared to the day before, but I think my brother Jeff equals about 25 kids all by himself. Always doing his best to keep the kids riled up.

Jason ran out of the house with the rest of the kids but went straight to one of the cars. He didn't want to be there.
Tori was doing her darndest to not be one of the little kids, while really wanting to be one of the little kids.
Samantha was convinced she got the most eggs. She was very proud of herself.
Jason just loves bubbles. It's kind of nice that he is paying attention to something.

Jason will join in the fun if it's jumping on the tramp.
Duncan wasn't feeling well. He didn't really join in with much. He played soccer, but ended up with a head ache.
Leslie helped the kids make nests out of pretzels chocolate, and the kids thought they were fabulous.
Happy Easter everyone.

Easter Bunny how I hate you!

I'm not 100% why I don't like the Easter Bunny. I've explained on this blog previously about my Dad's complete detest of the Easter Bunny as well. I will reiterate once again.

My Dad HATED cleaning out the vacuum cleaner. He HATED that all his girls had long hair, at least when it was time to clean out the vacuum. He HATED Easter grass. You know that lovely plastic stuff at the bottom of baskets. So one year the Easter Bunny visited and my Dad was waiting up for him with his shot gun. He scared the Easter bunny away and our baskets were left in a heap and a trail of candy was out the door. Needless to say, I can't imagine we left very much of the Easter grass around the house that year.

I don't think that this is why I am apposed to the Easter Bunny. I just think it's too silly for words. However, the kids think the Easter Bunny is AWESOME! So I'm going to try and not be a Easter Scrooge this year.

We are in the process of making our own Easter Baskets. Balloons, string, and glue. We'll see how they turn out. I don't think they will last longer then tomorrow afternoon, but that is all we need from them.
We decorated Easter eggs, which I can't remember EVER doing with my kids. Duncan decided he had better things to do, so it was just the me and the girls.
Sam's cute hands.
Tori loved every minute of it. Anything creative makes her happy.

Jason did have fun peeling the one egg that broke in the boiling. However he didn't find them the least bit appealing.

This was my egg. I saw an episode of Reading Rainbow when I was little where a lady made Eggs and used wax to cover areas to have multiple colors on eggs. I thought it sounded like fun, so I wanted to give it a try. It didn't turn out too impressive. I lost my attention span.

Last but not least Samantha put stickers on her eggs. It should be an enjoyable day.
