Last night and today

Yesterday about 7:00 pm Tori ran into the house and told Brett that something weird was going on with her eye. I was out buying dinner so when I got home I walked in the door to this.

"Mom, I think I'm having another Retinal Detachment."

So I asked her what she was seeing, and she said she was seeing some colors, and there was a blurry spot. So off to the ER we went. This time we had a pretty "quick" trip. We got there they tested her vision, and the NP came into talk to us. They immediately called the on call Opthalmologist and he came really quite quickly.

I recognized him. I'm happy about this, but also sad about this. I've been to the Moran Eye Center with Tori enough that I actually recognize the Residents.

Dr Wong said that he new her name and came right out. He has actually looked at her eyes in the office. He said, "If you ever have an on-call refuse to come out and see her, you let the person you are speaking through know that Dr. Bernstein would be very upset if they didn't come and check her out." I LOVE Dr. Bernstein!!!!!

He gave her a quite thorough exam and said he found something but wasn't sure what it is. Her retina's are OK, but he wasn't sure what the problem was. So he set up an appointment with Dr. Ronan for this morning.

We went out to the Moran this morning and saw Dr. Ronan. He did the questions himself, since the place was deserted. My baby is so smart!! She answered all the questions but maybe 2. She has listened to everything, and knows her own situtation. She isn't afraid to talk to the grown up doctors and tells them as much as she can.

Dr Ronan, again was very thourough. She has some discoloration on the macula of her retina. It's a darker spot then the rest, but there is no fluid building up behind the retina. He thinks her Retina is ok, but isn't as familiar with her eyes as Dr. Bernstein so he is going to consult with him about her eyes. I'm sure we will be in with Dr. Bernstein sometime this week. She needs to let me know if there is anything drastic that is changing in her vision, and I have the direct number for the on-call answering service.

I'll let you know if anything new comes up!!
