Sunday

Sunday was so mellow I don't know if I coped well. Weird, a day that I don't have to go anywhere!! A day that both sets of Grandparents are out of town????

What do I do with myself!!!

Conference was on, but I'm the WORST at staying awake. I know I should probably not consider myself that good of a "Saint". Oh well.....I can't take back the past.

I pulled the camera out and took a few pictures. This is my FAVORITE!!!
Can you tell he was absolutely sick of me taking pictures?

I made breakfast. I made waffles, and a fritata. I was the only one that liked the fritata. =)

Sunday

Sunday was quite enjoyable. Brett being that awesome husband that he is, and me being the heavy sleeper that I am, I slept until 11:00am. I got up, got ready, got the kids ready and we were off. Of course I had to take a picture of my snazzy dresser. He looks a little too grown up now a days.

Our Relief Society lesson was on Visiting Teaching. I know this is something we hear to much about some days. I know it's important, so I wasn't to disturbed by the lessons. We also talked about Jonah and it was quite good. I've really got to read my scriptures more. Sometimes these stories aren't what I quite remember them to be. It was Fast Sunday so we had Testimony meeting today. As soon as Duncan and Tori realized what day it was, they both wanted to get up to the pulpit and bare their testimonies. They are such good, and sweet kids.

Jason was, well Jason. He wanted to go up to the pulpit himself, but that is more to play on the organ and the piano then anything. On elderly gentleman was watching me hold onto Jason's shirt to keep him from going up front. After the meeting he said, "Congratulations you have the fastest hands in the west!" He had quite the twinkle in his eye.

Jason has learned that we check the mail everyday. So on the way to my Mom's house he had to make sure that there wasn't anything in there.
My cute kids wanted to play ball with Jason. It didn't last very long but they really do try with their little brother.

Sunday

Sunday I got up at a normal hour, got ready for church, and tried to catch up on a little work. The kids did well and got themselves ready for the most part.

Our lesson in Relief Society was on the Conference Talk The Power of the Priesthood by Pres. Boyd K. Packer. Kathy always does such an amazing job, it was a lovely lesson.

The kids were pretty good in Sacrament meeting. Jason was himself, but for fifteen minutes or so he read books. It was the most relaxing meeting I've had for a long time unless Jason wasn't there of he was asleep.

We came home and had dinner, and then went up to my folks house for a bit. Then we came home early and Brett gave the kids a Father's Blessing for the first day of school! He went in order, and Samantha said Jason would be last. So when Jason was sitting still after Sam's turn, Brett gave him a blessing too. My sweet Duncan was trying to hold back the tears as his Dad bless his brother. He really does like his little brother.

The kids went to bed and I hemmed Duncan's pants by hand. My fingers are still sore. But I think I had a pretty even stitch. So much that I took pictures. =)

Sunday

We started out the day going to my cousin Lisa's ward. They were blessing their sweet little boy Gabe. He looks just like his Daddy.

Then after church we decided to head up to Brett's Dad's house. We haven't seen the In-Laws in quite some time, so it was fun to get together. We advised the kids on the way up that Grandpa might not have the motorcycles running, and they were threatened with their freedom to not ask Grandpa about them. Of course Grandpa being the big kid that he is, asked the kids if they wanted to ride. They had a ball!

Even Jason took to them eventually.

I love this picture. I sneaked around the front to check on Jason, and they were picking flowers.

Duncan took this picture. I really like it!!!

Jason was "trying" to climb on the van, and Brett told the story about Jason scaling the car in under 5 minutes. He did it under 2 this time. Once he got on the hood it was all over!!!
Well, you can definitely see some resemblance. =)
This is some fun video of the driving. Blair taught both Duncan and Tori to ride the 3 wheeler. Nice! I can't believe they are that old!!!! Well maybe they really aren't old enough, but they got it!

Sunday

Duncan did me a huge favor! The lesson in Relief Society was about the Priesthood. There are few songs in the Hymn book, that are about the Priesthood that aren't for men only. He was very sweet and did a VERY good job. I think I was more nervous then he was though, since I had to play the piano. Not my forte!!!!

Duncan stood up in front of all the ladies and belted it out to them. Brett came in to listen to Duncan and record it with his phone. Unfortunately the microphone picked up the piano better then Duncan in some places, so I'm sorry about that.

Thanks for singing Duncan, you did VERY WELL!! I love you!!!

Sunday

Yesterday was a good normal Sunday. We woke up around 9ish, and lounged around for a while. we watched a little world cup soccer, and then I got up and got ready for church. If I don't just get up and get ready right away I'm always the last one to finish up.

I also figured out the songs for the rest of the year in Relief Society. We are studying the Gospel Principles this year, so we will be singing quite a few Primary Songs. There is nothing more basic then the Primary.

Jason went to Nursery without any issues. I brought him in sat him in the chair and walked out. Maybe he's adjusting?

Our Relief Society lesson was on the Conference talk given by Elder D. Todd Christofferson, "Moral Discipline". Sounds like a bit of a snooze fest from the title, but I love our teacher. Kathy always puts her heart and soul into her lessons. She talked about following our Moral Compass, and helping our children do the same. Being the spiritually uplifted and intelligent person I am, I made the comment that we can't choose which way the compass points, it always points north. We have to then determine our direction from there. Just like that compass our moral compass will always point to Christ, and we have to choose to follow that direction. (OK, I think I heard that in an institute lesson.......not so intelligent after all.)

Sunday School Brett spent getting ready for our Choir to perform. So I sat in the class by myself. I know a lot of people aren't a fan of Gospel Doctrine, but it has always been one of my favorites. I learn so much from the scriptures. We discussed how Saul wanted to do David in. Sadly, showing my true colors here, I didn't remember that at all! I was quite surprised by that turn of events. I know I attended seminary for all four years. I graduated with a 4 year diploma. But, I don't remember that part of the Old Testament. I guess I'm going to have to start reading that next.

Sacrament Meeting started out entertaining. The meeting hadn't started yet and Brett was sitting up front. He waved me over, but Jason was crawling under the benches. So I just let him, and went up to see what Brett needed. I don't remember what Brett needed, but I do know that Jason made it up to the front of the Chapel, pushing his forehead along the ground.

I got the kids settled and knew we were singing. So, I looked around to see who I could get to sit with the kids for a minute. I had a couple people picked out to ask, but the both left after the Sacrament. Nice....... I took Jason up to the front with me. Expecting the worst. He did really want to get to the organ. He even said please!!! So the whole time we sung our song, I held Jasons hands and bounced him up and down. You'd think that this would distract me. NOPE!! We sounded Beautiful. Even with only three alto's we belted our Alto Solo. It was wonderful.

We then went to Mom's house for dinner. The kids had a good time playing with the cousins. It was nice to just relax in the back yard, and watch Jason jump on Kristen and Chad's trampoline. I've advised my parents they may have to buy one when Kris and Chad leave. My Dad, has been reading a lot about Autism lately. It's kind of funny. I don't know how many times I've told my Parents that Jason it going to need a lot of help, and patience. He's been telling me all about the stuff he's been reading, and trying to tell me what he thinks we should be doing with Jason. He was convinced that we weren't doing anything, and needed to start. Well yesterday we spent some time talking about what we do have going on, his starting preschool in September, and all that Jazz. Maybe he'll really think we are trying.....

My Grandparents came over to the house for dinner as well. Man they are looking beat up. Grandma was in the hospital last weekend, and her ankles are huge!!! She's going to the doctor today, hopefully it's just that she was taken off her water pills.

I think that's it? I blog if I can think of anything else......=)

Sunday

Yesterday morning started out with a delicious breakfast of pancakes in bed. Duncan really wanted to make me breakfast on my birthday, but I was a little hesitant for him to cook without any adult supervision. So Brett sat in the kitchen while Duncan made pancakes. He did a good job!!

We've put a timer on the Xbox, and Duncan is just itching for more time. I've never had such a cooperative son! He's been willing to do just about anything around the house for more minutes. I'm sure this will be a bit of an annoyance some day, but for now I'm totally enjoying it.

We went to church and Jason went to nursery somewhat painlessly. Usually Brett has to take him in, but I did and he let go of my hand and clung to my friend Virginia. Nice change.

The lesson in Relief Society was about the scriptures. How we need to read them and read them to our family. What peace it brings into our lives. I've been trying to read the Book of Mormon. It goes in spurts but I've read more in the past few weeks, then in a long time. It does help me relax a little. I only can get it in when Jason is busy, but it seems to help my day.

Sacrament Meeting was a bit of a fiasco. The plus side, Brett got to come down to sit with us. That at least helped a little bit. Samantha went to the bathroom 2 times, Tori and Duncan were goofing off, with Jason. Jason tried to escape at least 6 times. Although there was all the craziness, I did actually listen to the speakers. They all did a good job. The youth speaker is a good kid and will be going on a mission within the next year. Kelli, did an awesome job! She is a very sweet person, and I love her. She is AWESOME! Mark, lives down the street from us. He is a really nice guy as well. He's always ready to smile and wave. It was, on a whole, a very pleasant meeting.

Then we went to dinner at Mom's. Three days in a row, with Jason. You should have seen the exhaustion in my Dad's face. We had Stew, and home made Bread. Always a favorite! Even Jason ate. My sister Kristen, will be moving in with my parents soon. They sold their house and will be moving in the next week or so. So we got to play with Mitch and Brock. The boys love Brett! They are both turning out to be AWESOME little men!

The girls are going to Braille camp this morning. I had to be up by 6:50am, how rude! =)

We picked up their new buddy Annie and drove to the carpool. They were so excited to have their canes, they asked Annie where her's was. She smiled and pulled her's out of her backpack. Annie doesn't like to use her cane, but it would be a great benefit for her if she did. Maybe having my girls be sooooo excited about them will help Annie. I hope and pray that our girls will never need to use a cane, Braille, or any of it. However, it doesn't hurt to learn anything! They are going to have a ball!!!

Duncan is downstairs playing on his computer. I really think we need to put a timer on that as well. =)

Sunday

The in-laws are on a mission, so I'm making this book for the kids. It should be really cute.
Jason has a new obsession with the tub. He goes into the bathroom about 8 times a day. This tantrum was because I wouldn't let him in the bathroom.
We got to go to my nieces baby blessing on Sunday. She's a sweet tiny little thing. Jason isn't feeling well, so we just went home after the meeting.
My kids all snazzy after church!
Duncan asked Brett to shave his head. This is before.
This is after! Thank goodness. The shaggy look was beginning to get on my nerves.
I snapped this picture when he was laying on my legs. I couldn't see him very well, but held the camera up high enough to get a shot of him. This will make me laugh for some time!!
We made peach cobbler for dessert. Yum!! The kids didn't quite know what to make of it. They tried to be brave, but they mainly ate the ice cream.
We also had stake, potato's, and asparagus. Brett is a darn good cook!!!
While I was outside taking pictures and talking to Brett, I assumed the kids were watching Jason. Of course you know what assuming does. I ran upstairs to the sound of water in the tub, and thought I would catch him with his clothes on playing. NO! He must have taken off up to the bathroom as soon as I went outside. The water was completely overflowing! As I snapped this picture I also grabbed Jason as he head dived into the water. The water actually was into the hallway. Sigh.......can't leave this boy alone for one minute, let alone 15!!!!!
Jason liked the ice cream! I thought this was a cute picture so had to post it.
My nephew Brock's birthday was this week. He is one year old. He also really loved his cake!
Then we just played in the back yard. All except Jason.
More playing in the backyard.
Wherever anyone else was Jason didn't want to be. My Mother is finally admitting that Jason is Autistic. At least for this week. He's just not showing any signs of communication. He won't sign, he won't speak. I'm not sure if I like that my Mom has finally come to understand the inevitable. It means that he's not improving. sigh......

Sunday night

We spent the evening at my parents house. Quite weird really, usually we go between Grandma and Grandpa Siddoway's and my folks on Sunday. Since they are on a mission this is going to take a while to get used to. It was actually a pretty nice day so the kids played in the front yard for a while. I just happened to have my flip camera in the diaper bag so I ran around taking pictures. Kind of fun.

Grandma Child's

I brought the camera to my mother's house on Sunday to see if I could get any pictures of the new nephew but they are holing up in there house for a little while. Understandable with all the Swine Flu going around our area right now. So I got some awesome pictures of my family. I've been giggling as I've been looking through them!!!!

These first 4 pictures I took within 5 minutes. This is, as my mother put it, a typical Sunday at the Child house!

Mitchell loves trucks so we were letting the boys play in the back of Papa's truck!
We also went up to my friend and boss Joe's house to play ultrasound tech on my sister Leslie. She's the one putting the flaming torch in her ear. She's pretty early but we think she is having a girl! YAY!!!!

100th Post

Not much happened today so, and it's my 100th post. What the heck? I have nothing exciting to share, nothing out of the ordinary....maybe that's a good thing. Ever since Jason was born the world has been one crazy week after the other. My hope is that life settles down for us for a while and we can finally get back to a stable environment.

I've enjoyed blogging and will hopefully continue for quite some time!
