Today has been a pretty good and mellow day. I got a lot of work in, Jason was a good boy. He played quite a bit with only a few minor issues.
Tonight for Family Night we discussed the issues that we are experiencing with Jason. The concerns that we have with them feeling left out.
So we talked about a Mom&Dad Date, as well as a Kid Date. What they would like to do, and if the plan would be a good one. They all seemed really excited about it.
Duncan wanted to go to the Skate Park, a Movie, or Dinner.
Tori wants to make things with Brett and I. Craft's with Mom, Building stuff with Dad.
Samantha wants to go to the park.
I think it will be good. We'll just have to take it one week at a time.

Brett is very domestic
The older kids slept over at Grandma Child's house last night, so we just had Jason. You'd think that this would be easier then having all 4 kids, but Jason always makes up for the missing children.
He was up for a good 2 1/2 hours last night. I'm not sure what he's doing. He's waking up at like 3:00am and happy to greet the day. Unfortunately that means Brett or I have to deal with him. I took my turn last night and we were up from about 4:30am-7:00am. Those of you who know me, know that sleep is a very important thing for me!!!!
My Mom called about 10:00am and said the kids were ready to come home. I however was not ready to go and get them. My sweet husband took Jason and went to pick up the kids while I slept some more. I woke up at 12:00n. So lovely!
I woke up to Brett at the sewing machine. Since Brett is so creative he really wants to make his own costume for the stake play. The costume he picked out came with a good pattern for a Pinocchio hat. So he made Duncan's hat this morning. Isn't it awesome?!?!?! It will have some feathers when it is completed, but that should only take a little hot glue.

Jason's new bed
Jason got a new bed. He's been giving me a heart attack with his ability to climb out of his crib. He hasn't been sleeping in it since he learned to climb out. So we got him a toddler bed in the hopes that we will be able to encourage him to sleep in his own bed. We'll see how it all goes. He really seems to like it though!

Duncan and more fishing
Duncan begged me to let him go fishing again today. They went down to the local pond....er.....lake. He was so excited because the weather guy form Fox news was down taking some footage and he asked them to be in his shot. It was during sunset so you couldn't tell who the kids were unless they were yours.
We stayed up and watched the weather and sure enough the boys were right there. I'm going to try and get the footage, or at least the link. I'm not so sure that I'll be able to though. If I do I'll post it.
He was so cute. It's so funny how excited he gets over everything!!

I'm a little peeved!
I just got a great email from one of the mothers of my Cub Scouts. As many of you are aware we have had a lot of stuff going on in our life. I've been a little worn out and have had a really hard time with keeping my den meetings going. I think I've done pretty darn good. We've had our meetings 3 weeks in a row now. I did basically take the summer off, but there are few in the Cub Scouting world who don't.
I've done Cubs since I was pregnant with Jason. I'm burned out!!!! I've got this lovely boy who is gung-ho about Cubs. Good for him. But, I'm having a struggle with the judgmental emails. Take it off my hands if you don't think I'm doing the job I'm supposed to, but don't judge me until you've walked in my shoes!
Ok, I'm done venting. Sorry!

My sweet Tori
I had a terrible time going to sleep last night. Don't ask me why.......
This morning, I was wasted. My older kids could see that, so they pretty much left me alone and watched Jason for me. By this I mean close my bedroom door and watch T.V. while they keep Jason under wraps, but still.
Then when I was getting ready for the day, I saw Tori walk into my bedroom with a new bottle for Jason. She tries so hard with him. I hope it pays off for her in the long run, he has a tendency to pick on my poor Tori. He'd much rather be with Duncan.

Today seemed better
Today seemed better for Jason then the last few. I'm not sure why. The kids were home from school. Maybe they pull him out of his own little world more.
He did make eye contact quite a bit, and seemed to kind of enjoy the social environment. He also had a pretty good nap so maybe that was it too.
I have a friend who's daughter is Autistic. I told her it was like Jason had just taken about 10 steps back. She said, "They'll do that. But then one day they will wake up and be 20 steps ahead. So it's kind of a day to day thing." We'll see.
The other thing I'm going to have to do is schedule some quality time with the other kids. Jason has had quite a bit of attention since he was born. Samantha is feeling deprived!!! One step at a time!!!!
