More from Jason

We thought Jason was doing so awesome after not sleeping last night. Brett got to sleep on the couch. I say it that way because I didn't get much sleep. Every time Brett would try and sit on our bed, Jason would freak out. If Brett touched him he would cry, if Brett looked at him, Jason would glare back.

This morning, while Brett let me get a few hours of sleep, Jason seemed to be doing better. He was up bouncing around, playing, enjoying life. We went to church, where he willingly went to nursery. They came and got Brett because Jason wouldn't stop crying. After falling asleep in his arms we went to Sunday school. He woke up at the end, and again wouldn't stop crying. I finally took a good look at his mouth. He's covered in cankers. His tongue, his lips, I suspect his throat.

I went to Lisa for her much needed, and much asked for help. She's going to call him in a perscription and she told me to mix 50/50 Benedryl and Maalox and coat the cankers with it. It seemed to help quite a bit.

He's been asleep since about 2:30pm. Hopefully he'll be feeling ok when he wakes up.

Ear's

Jason has been so momma needy lately I knew something was up. He didn't eat, wouldn't suck his bottle, and he has been drooling quite a bit. Tonight he cried for about 2 hours. After he fell asleep and then woke up screaming again, I took him over to KidCare.

Jason has an ear infection in his left ear. This is opposite the norm for him. I think that is why it is affecting him so badly. They gave me an antibiotic and gave him some Motrine, and some numbing ear drops. At the moment he's asleep propped up on a couple of pillows. Hopefully we will get some sleep tonight.

Saturday Morning

The girls watched T.V. downstairs again. We finally got the T.V. set up in the family room.

Jason and I slept until about 9:00am. OK Jason slept until about 9:00am, I tried to sleep until 10:30am.

Brett was up and moving, I have no idea when.

Jason seems to have an ear infection. He's doing better with some Motrin in him. Samantha got up to bug him and he gave her a slow motion punch in the nose. Pretty funny, but I could tell he was not ready to deal with Samantha.

Duncan spent the night at my Mom's house with Max. They are going to see the Lightening Thief this afternoon. Duncan is VERY excited. He has read the first 4 books of this series and really can't wait to see it in the theater.

Snuggling with Daddy

Jason wanted to play in his room tonight! Yay!!!

Brett sat in there and was playing with his i-phone. He turned on some music, and Jason went and sat next to Daddy, got under the blanket and was taking it all in.

Social Sensory Playgroup

Jason had playgroup this morning. Since he has had such a weird sleep pattern this week, it didn't go well. He didn't want to wake up, he didn't want to get in the car, he didn't want to drive anywhere.

When we got there Jason just cried and cried. We sat in the rocking chair for a while to see if I could calm him down. I then showed him the puzzles, and he was ok with that. Except he seemed to think that he could do he puzzle himself. Very UNLIKE my boy.

Karianne pulled out a wagon, so the boys would have to take turns. Jason had no interest in the wagon. He sat in it and cried the whole time.

We opened the Discovery Table and that was the only time that he seemed to play. However he would only do that when I was sitting with him.

He's out cold now. He hasn't taken a nap in a week, so I'm quite pleased.

Mom and Me

Last night was the Mom and Me night at the kids school. Brett was working, so I decided it would be the perfect distraction for the kids. We walked over at the school since generally by the time I find parking it would take as long and as much energy just to walk from our house.

The PTA had a group from the ogden area come and do African Dancing. The kids had a ball.

I let the kids go sit on the stage, so that they could see better. (They performed in the middle of the gym.) There were enough kids that wanted to come up to the front that they told the kids to go ahead and sit on the floor in front of the chairs.

Duncan enjoyed it from the beginning. There is just something about the drums. Then they started singing a song, where one side sings and the other side responds. They held the microphone up to random kids, and of course Duncan was one of the random kids. He sang as loud and clear as he possibly could. He advised me afterward that he had his moment of being the center of attention. GAG!!

Tori loved the dancing. She did all the moves that the performer showed them. They at one point got up on the stage and Tori was right in front trying to do it exactly as directed.

Samantha also loved the dancing. She sat on my lap for a while along with Jason so she could see better. She was the main reason I told them to go up to the stage. She just loves anything that has to do with socializing.

Jason was quite into the drums as well. He really focused on the drumming. After a while he got bored and put it out of his mind, but for the most part he really liked it. He wanted to go up to the stage with the other kids, but I chased him around for a while. He is really good at dodging through a crowd though, so he did end up on stage. I went into the hall and waited for them to be done and then grabbed him and took him in the hall. He wasn't happy with me, until he got a cookie at the end.

All in all it was a good night.

I'm not sure if this is good or not

For two days in a row now Jason has awakened at 3:30am and stayed up until about 5:30am. At which time he is given another dose of Melatonin and he finally goes back to sleep. However, he is sleeping past 10:00am. What to do, what to do? It's kindof nice, yet the night before I didn't sleep very well, and last night poor Brett got maybe 4 hours of sleep. What to do, what to do?

Annual Valentines Tea Party

Leslie and Jon had their annual Valentines Tea Party. Again, my camera is broken so I don't have any pictures to share.......yet.

Leslie had a back drop that we set up. Traci and Leslie made over her kitchen table and it turned out pretty cute. It will probably take a while to get them though because I know she's going to be playing with photo shop on the baby pictures. I'll post them as soon as I can.

Then Brett had Leslie print off a big copy of a picture he took in Yellowstone. It will be really nice over my stairs. Again, I'll post a picture as soon as Brett gets them finished. He's building the frames and everything.

Happy Saturday!!

February seems to be my down month

I looked at last years blog entries and February was definitely the lowest count.

We went to Arizona this last weekend, and I will have pictures soon. My camera was dropped right before we left and the lens is stuck....=(

Jason and I went for a walk before lunch today. I think it might be something that we will start more often. He really enjoyed being outside. Of course halfway he wanted me to pick him up and walk with him, but that was to be expected.

We'll see how that works

UPBC

The Utah Parents of Blind and Visually Impaired Children had the first ever Louis Braille Carnival. The kids had a lot of fun. It was at the Blind Center in Salt Lake City, and it was the first time we have ever been out there. There was Fish Pond, Bingo, Bowling, Fortune Telling, a game room, Face Painting, and Bounce houses. They even provided lunch. It was a lot of fun! Thank you everyone!!!!

I know I'm a BRAT!!

I've been spoiled! I feel like such a brat!

I'm hiding in my new office.

I know I've got the best kids in the world, but I'm ready to have time off!!!!

Duncan, as was expected, really didn't want to move downstairs. He's adjusting, but has been a bit of a pill. When he's not pouting about being downstairs, he's demanding something new.

Tori, as was expected, has been really good about moving downstairs. The only thing with her this week has been her orthodontist appointment today. We thought her braces wouldn't be too much since she is so young. But, with all the work she is going to be closer to $5000.00. Which means no braces yet.

Samantha has been struggling. She is really having a hard time lately, with everything. I don't know if it's all the Jason stuff, the other kids, just being 6. She's been a bit of a monkey. Yesterday she was grounded from the computer. I don't even remember why. Brett was frustrated with her so he grounded her from the computer. Then, when the kids went to bed, Tori came upstairs and said, "Dad, I don't think you put my bed together right. It's not feeling like it supports me." So Brett went downstairs, and sure enough, it was broken.

Brett had put up Samantha's bed first. She immediately started jumping on it. Brett told Samantha not to jump on the beds because she will break them. So he put up Tori's bed, and left the room.

Somewhere in between the beds being put up and bed time, Samantha jumped on Tori's bed and snapped the frame. So at 9:30pm Brett was trying to fix Tori's bed so that we could all go to sleep.

Then at the store today, I was playing with Jason. He was being so sweet, and giggling. We put Popsicles in the cart and he pointed at them and said, "Ca-ca". So I bent down to kiss him again, and play with him, and the little monster bit my top lip. I know this is just because I overstimulated him. I know this, but it doesn't mean that I don't feel any worse. It's silly, I know, but I'm a little heart broken. Why can't I just play with my 2 1/2 year old? My other kids, could be played with and talked to. Why can't I just hug him and kiss him? sigh........

I know......it's just how this works. Doesn't make it any easier.
