Playing Catch Up January 8th

I don't remember why we borrowed the truck, but obviously it's one of Jason's favorite things.

I do remember that this was how Brett and I spent the next week or so.  Brett is always required to finish books within 2-3 days.  He can do it, so he does.  Then I get it.  I'm a SLOW reader, and it takes me forever.  This can be painful for Brett since he is DYING to talk to me about the book, but it must be done this way.

This is the last book in a long series that Brett started reading as a teenager.  He finally sucked me into the series about 10 years ago, and now it's over.  I actually caught Brett re-reading it very recently.  If you enjoy Fantasy novels the Wheel of Time series is such a good book!!!

Playing Catch Up January 7th

I had to go home early from Dress Barn because I had a fever.  Obviously holiday's aren't complete until you get sick.

And this is why one (namely me) shouldn't have cool whip in the refrigerator.  Jason LOVES Cool Whip.

Playing Catch up January 6th

I'm so greatful that Jason likes to snuggle.  If he had issues with touch, I'm not sure I'd survive raising him.

Duncan had to try on the Brobee hat.

Duncan got us hooked on Super Natural.  I love this show and could watch it over and over.  I think Dean is the cute one.

 My Sam likes Sam.

Even Jason will watch....ok he doesn't really care.

I found it on Pinterest "Oven Candied Tangerines"

I wanted to try this recipe just for fun.  It looked intriguing to me.  I found it on Pinterest and here is the link.  I peeled four tangerines and laid them out on parchment paper.  I did my best to get rid of all the pith as suggested.

I set the oven as low as it would go (200 degrees) and waited 30 minutes.  They were still not quite done.  I let them roast for about an hour and a half, and this is the result.  I know it doesn't look too different.

The author suggested that you eat it with yogurt.  I picked creamsicle.  Who can go wrong with creamsicle?

This was my awesome snack.  They were lovely!  The sugars were concentrated and I enjoyed them more without the yogurt then with.

It is a requirement to get all the pith off the oranges.  The sugars are concentrated but so is the flavor of the pith.  That was yucky.  I left some in the refrigerator for Brett to try them in the morning (he had fallen asleep by the time they were finished.)  When he got up they were all gone, Jason had loved them as well.

Catching up January 5th

This is me and the hubby hanging out.
This is the view that we see everyday!  AAAAA!!!!!  The attack of the killer Jason!!

Jason loved this Broby hat.  I think it's the ear muffs.  But it was a must have.

Catching up January 2nd

I don't remember so many ravens hanging out when I was growing up.  It appears they definitely are here to stay.  Raven bowling anyone?

Samantha fell asleep that day at around 3:00 pm.  She was pretty sick.

Catching up January 1st

The last few years Grandma Siddoway has filled her Christmas Tree with toys.  This strange bee was the one Tori picked to bring home.  We referred to it as Devil Bee.

Jason loved/loves the blanket Aunt Shar made him for Christmas.  Obviously she loves him more then I do.  I don't think I could have even come close to finishing this quilt.

Duncan didn't break anything.  We took him into be x-rayed and he was ok.

Again, I periodically take my own picture.  This one was because my hair was getting pretty long.

No pictures of Samantha.  She is hard to catch most days.
