January 8th

With Duncan on the swim team we spent a lot of time together in the car.  This was his breakfast.....roman noodles.....

January 6th

Brett decided to go to the Gym this day, and Duncan had to do some homework.  I ran over to the gym to let Brett know that Duncan was at the library, and then dropped Duncan off.  I took a picture of Duncan and texted it Brett so he knew where he was to pick him up.  Then I ran home and finished dinner.  =)

January 5th

Our new church time is 9am.  So I thought I would try doing Rag Curlers in Tori's hair.  Look at how AWESOME this girls hair is!

After church Jason needs to strip naked and have a popsicle.  Duncan just has to hang out with us.  (I'm ok with that!)

Up at the In-Laws house the kids were singing some of the songs from the Frozen soundtrack.  I tried to catch it, but the minute I pulled my phone out, they all stopped singing!

January 4th

Duncan got to go skiing with Grandpa Child for the first time.  My Dad taught us all to ski, so when Duncan finally wanted to learn Dad took him up.  I told Dad to take a selfie on the ski lift.  As you can tell, he wasn't quite sure how to do it.  They had a fun time, and Duncan came home really sore.  I told him he would be surprised what muscles hurt.  Of course my Dad wasn't sore at all, so that was a fun topic of conversation to harass Duncan about.

January 2nd

Sam and I were the only ones at the dinner table this evening.  Duncan went with Brett to Cub Scouts, and Tori was babysitting.   Jason of course doesn't usually sit down, so that was no surprise.  It was fun to have a little us time with my Sammy!

New Years Eve

New Years Eve my sister Leslie asked if my older kids could spend the night.  They immediately said yes, and so they went had had a ball with some of their cousins.

Brett and I are such party animals, we didn't know what to do.  We went up to the In-laws and hung out there for a while.

Jason fell asleep before midnight and then I believe Brett and I went to sleep.

Sigh.....we really are getting old.

Autism is our Life

Since a lot of my posts are about Jason and his Autism, I decided to start a new blog.  I know that it seems that I have one child and occasionally post about the other children.  So I decided that this is for sure going to be the family blog.  If you want to follow that blog it's autismisourlife.blogspot.com

December 30th

We now spend a lot of time at the Rec Center.  Jason loves the pool, and he even loves the shower in the family dressing rooms.  I wish they had more of the family dressing rooms.  Trying to keep Jason calm while waiting for someone to vacate on of them can be hard!

Grandma Siddoway spent a lot of time sewing a weighted blanket for Jason.  He loves it!  It has become a nightly thing to keep him in bed.

December 28th

We had the Siddoway Family Christmas Party the weekend after Christmas.  Jason was struggling all through the hollidays, so he took a few moments and hid in the bathroom.

I'm the best Mom.  This was breakfast!

We did white elephant gift exchange and had a pinata!

The kids had a blast!  They always enjoy the time with their cousins, and Brett and I always enjoy a little adult conversation!

This was one of Duncan's favorite gifts.  Sindicate is a youtuber that Duncan listens to a lot.  He loves his show and was excited that he got one of his t-shirts.

Christmas

The kids loved Christmas!  I can't tell you how many times I heard Duncan telling the girls they weren't getting laptops.

Jason loved his fuzzy socks!

Gotta get a picture with all of them and their fuzzy socks.

This year we made sure that the kids knew which cousin had them for Christmas.  Lauren was so excited to give Duncan his gift.

Max had Tori.

Taylor had Sam

Mitch had Jason.  We had to make Jason get his present and open it.  The Milne's did well.  Jason loved all his stimming toys!

Duncan recieved gloves, underwear, and socks.  Then Grandma sent him down the hall to look under her bed.  Yes....he liked his gift.

Christmas Eve

It has turned into a tradition to spend Christmas Eve at Aunt Leslie and Uncle Jon's house.  We have dinner and hand out.  This year Duncan brought his guitar and Uncle Jeff gave Duncan a bit of a guitar lesson.

This is the crowd listening to Uncle Jeff play.

My sweet and beautiful girls.

Jason had a melt down for about an hour.  This is something that started happening more and more often this year.  Especially through the holidays.  There is just too much going on.

After getting a good thrashing from Jason it was wonderful to have him need me.  He clung to my hand and wouldn't let me move as he fell asleep.

I love that he is affectionate.  Sometimes I wish he was a little more Daddy clingy but I love this little bugger!

December 23rd

iPad cords are fragile!

I cannot tell you how much money we have spent on ipad cords.  Jason stims with them.  It doesn't matter how many times I take it away from him, and replace it with something else, the boy loves his cords.  In desperation I got a plug and taped it to an extension cord.  I wrapped the cord itself in electricians tape hoping to save it for a little while.  The cord died as quickly as the rest.  However I love the taped plug!  I always know where that one is.  I also have found the locations with the cheapest cords.  Walgreens and Mavrick.  Who knew?

December 23rd

Sometimes Jason starts not drinking.  There isn't anything I can do to convince him to drink water, juice....anything besides mt. dew.

In those cases I go and buy all the banana ice pix they have at smiths.  You should see the look I get from people.  =)

December 22nd

I made the kids go outside and take a Christmas picture before church.  After I fought them all to take the picture I realized that their were old rusty cars in the back ground.  It's good to have a talented husband that knows how to photo shop.

Either way I have cute kids!

December 20th

We took the kids to Kneaders one night for dinner, and Duncan become obsessed with getting apple pie.  He even had to order it to get one.  So after getting all the kids to school, Duncan and I went to Kneaders and he shared his apple pie.  He ordered it and purchased it and then insisted that we share.

How lucky am I?

And since I had hot apple pie for breakfast I cleared off the driveway.  This was actually quite a hard feat.  I had let the snow freeze so I had to use a snub nosed shovel to clean it off.

December 19th

I apologize to you as readers....if I have any.

It's been a hard few months and so once again....I'm going to try and catch up on this thing.

Duncan had to give a presentation on Hades the God of the Underworld.  When Duncan does something he likes to go all out!  He told me he needed a beard and a wig.  When he asked me for this we had no funds left for about a week.  So instead of telling him no, I took some gray yarn I had and went to work.  I found a free beard pattern on line and started crocheting.  Once I got the beard done I had to figure out what to do about the hair.  I tried a different pattern but it was going so slowly that I gave up.  Instead I just faked a net hat and then added the fringe.  I was amazed how good it turned out.  Duncan was so excited that it made it all worth the time I put into the silly thing.
