Child Family Halloween Party

This year for the Child Family Halloween Party we went to a pumpkin patch. The kids had a ball!! This is the naughty little bunch of kids.
Papa and Jason
My silly girl and her silly cousin. Watch out when these two are getting along.
These two think they are so big and tough. It's pretty funny!!!
Loved the sunset behind the tractor.
Picking out their pumpkins. Duncan choose his the minute he got off the hay ride.
Samantha was so excited she could hardly contain herself.
Tori was very meticulous about picking hers. She wanted it to be the biggest!!
Jason could have cared less about the pumpkin but enjoyed the hay ride, and running around the field.
The had fabulous slides. All the kids loved them. If the line wasn't so long I think they would have hit this slide all night.
Even Jason loved it. The flash didn't work so the picture sucks but I LOVE his smile.
I took Jason over to the smaller slide and showed him how to do it himself. Mitchell and Jason had a lot of fun together!!!
Last thing was the train ride. Tori is my sweet girl that always gets Jason.
Samantha tries really hard to be a big girl, but really enjoys things like this.

Duncan and Max went through the haunted house with Jeff and Papa. It scared the pants off them and it was a great experience for them all.

Halloween 2010

Jason was my little caged tiger. He actually left his ears on for his preschool party.

He was a little bit confused about the pumpkin.
But once the paints came out he could have gone on forever.
Tori was a ghost.
Duncan was a Dead Gangster
Samantha was "Puppies for sale"
We went Friday to Brett's office and trick-or-treated.
After we got home, we found that Jason liked the costume make-up. He really thought it was paint and now one of my make-up brushes is beat up.
Samantha advised me that Halloween would be ruined if we didn't carve pumpkins.

This is Tori's. She watched a bunch of pumpkin carving tutorials on you-tube and wanted to try out the newer techniques.
Samantha's has star glasses and braces. Dad had to help with some of it but she loved every minute.
This is Brett's 8-bit cyclops. Love the little teeth.
Duncan was cute and got his little brother a donut at the trunk-or-treat. Then the flood gates opened and it started to poor. I haven't seen so many adults running in one place for a long time.
We ran up to the in-laws and Aurora was there. Jason seems to dig her. This face was a pose. I waited to see if I could get a normal face and he wouldn't relax until I took the picture.
We had a couple of cousins come trick-or-treating with us. We had a lot of fun. Wesley said that he got twice as much candy as he ever got before. I don't know if it was true or not but at least they felt like it was worth it to come with us.
The kids loved the big cat. Had to snap a picture with them.
Samantha was exhausted and wanted to go home. The other two wanted to stay out so I was brave and let them go. This was the last door that Samantha knocked on.
My sweet husband put the pumpkins out. Duncan carved his at school, so we had 4 pumpkins to place on the porch.

Today's goings on

I walked out the door to go to Jason's ENT appointment today, when I got a call from Duncan. "Mom, I just threw up." So I had to turn the car around and go check Duncan out of school. I had a nice little helper to get Jason to his appointment. Duncan seems to be doing well, so I don't think I have to worry about him.

Jason will be having new tubes placed in his ears on the 3rd of November. After that we will be having him sedated to have another ABR done, so we can hopefully get a conclusive result on his hearing. More about that when the time comes.

I took Jason to preschool the other day and the first thing he did was run over to the computer. I'd seen a few other kids do this but I knew Jason doesn't know how to run the computer, so it surprised me a bit. The teacher explained they have a touch screen and Jason is VERY good at running the schools computer. INTERESTING.

So Samantha's new favorite thing is to get on the computer and play a game that Jason would like with him sitting next to her. She's a sweet thing.

I bought a black sweat suit and some orange duct tape, and Brett made Jason's costume. I've said all along that he is "My Little Caged Tiger", I think it's pretty darn cute.

Happy Halloween!!!

Today was quite the Halloween. We carved our pumpkins that we grew in the front yard. The kids pretty much carved there own this year. It was a lot of fun.

Samantha and Brett's Jack-o-latterns.
Mine, very traditional.
Mine is in the back. Tori's, Duncan's and Jason/Curtis' are in the front.
Samantha was very proud of her pumpkin. So was Tori.Brett lighting the pumpkins.
Then we went to a trunk or treat that was put on by Grandma Siddoway's Ward. The kids had a ball! Grandma and Grandpa Siddoway always have hot dogs at the trunk or treat so we run by there and have a little dinner. Then we stop by Grandma and Grandpa Child's house for a bit of Chili, so that I will eat dinner. Duncan=Death, Samantha=Cat or Cheetah, Tori=Witch, Jason=Devil, Brett=himself in his shirt and kilt that he made himself.Jason hated his costume. This was taken at our Ward trunk-or-treat the night before and he tried to get his hat off the whole time. He also tried to take his wings off and ended up chasing them in a circle like a dog chasing his tail. Way cute!!!Samantha was thrilled with her cotton candy.

Then we went home and the trick-or-treating began. Duncan took off and went with his buddy. I think they ran to every house they could possibly see. Then I took the girls out while Brett stayed home and gave out candy. Jason was uninterested in trick-or-treating so he stayed home with Daddy. We went a different route this year, and went looking for a spooky house that Duncan told us about the year before. I kept asking the girls at every corner if they still wanted to keep looking. To which came the immediate response to the affirmative. We almost gave up, until I heard someone scream and I knew we were close. We walked around the corner and Samantha said, "Ok, I'm a little freaked out now." After all that work I made them go up and get the treat from the girl dressed in the spooky clown costume. I guess this guy goes all out every year and adds more and more as he goes. It was awesome! I have no idea who they are but I really appreciated his efforts. We started on our trek home and Tori said, "Now I really wish I hadn't wanted to see it so bad." LOL!!! I even made Brett go back to the house and take pictures for me. Then when Duncan got home Brett had to take him back there as well because his buddy's had already gone and seen the house this year.
We had a fun safe year, and I can't believe Halloween is already over. We actually weighed the kids bags and we now have a combined total of 20lbs of candy. YUK!! I'm going to have to slowly throw some of it away. They are going to be sick!!!!
