What a weekend....

This morning was quite the game. Well, lets start this weekend.

I was feeling a little run down on Saturday, but I thought it was because Jason hadn't been sleeping. Then Saturday night I came down with a 102 degree fever, and was in bed until Sunday. Then I ran to Instacare and got confirmed what I thought. I have Strep Throat, again...... I have amoxicillin to take 2 times a day.

Jason had an in-grown toe nail. Yes.....at 2. Brett saw it and was able to get it out, but too late to keep it from infection. So I'd set an appointment to take him to the doctor today, however it looked so bad last night I ran him over to Lisa's house to get her to look at it last night. So now I have an Keflex to give him twice a day and an antibiotic ointment that I get to apply to the affected area 3 times a day. Along with giving him a Epsom Salt bath three times a day to see what can be soaked out of his foot.

Samantha threw up about 9:30am, so she is staying home. So far nothing more, but she got to stay home. She's enjoying her time.

Tori has had a stuffy nose for about 2 weeks. She has started getting headaches and her eyes have had constant circles, and they've been red for about 3 days now. So I kept this mornings appointment and brought her in to see if she had strep or a sinus infection. No Strep.....sinus infection. So now she will have Augmentin to take 2 times a day. Also, recommended Musinex D 2 a day until she clears up.

Duncan says he's had Diarrhea for a few days. He really thought he should stay home. So I had all 4 of the kids when I ran to the doctor this morning. Although he was yelling and screaming and enjoying himself on the ride. I advised him that he was going to have a ton of homework and he needed to decide if he was really sick. I also told him that he was not going to get to play with his computer today while he should be in school. All of a sudden he thought he should probably go to school.

So I checked Tori and Duncan into school, since Tori's issue was not contagious, and advised his teacher that we have been sick at home but that as soon as I had taken away his computer he wanted to get to school. Hopefully he stays healthy. For one, we have enough illness around her. Secondly, if he does end up throwing up at school I'm going to feel really guilty. =)

The energizer devil must crash sometimes

Jason woke up at 4:30am this morning and didn't go back to sleep. I gave him melatonin at 11:30am, but it didn't seem to take any affect. However, he finally fell asleep. On my office floor. Drawing.

Such a cute little bugger. He was still attempting to draw with his eyes closed.

The Girls IEP

Well, it's that time of year again.

Tori and Samantha had their IEP's with their teacher's and their Principal. The girls were pretty nervous this year. Marcia has making sure that they introduced everyone and told what they have learned so far. They even got to brag about their awards that they received at this years Braille challenge.

I asked if Samantha could visit with the school counselor a few times a month. The principal said he'd send home a permission slip so that we can start their. If she needs more help, then I know another counselor I'd be very comfortable with Samantha talking to.

Here is the gist of the girls accomplishments and goals for next year.

Tori has learned all her Braille alphabet letters and their contractions. She is 99% in brailling, 98% in reciting, 97% in reading, and knows 4/6 punctuations. Victoria does not know Braille numbers, whole word and short form word signs.

Tori's annual goal: Victoria will demonstrate proficiency in Braille by tactually reading, brailling, and reciting 4 whole word signs, 9 punctuation marks, 22 short-form words, numbers 0-9, and braille 10 classroom spelling lists and interline them with 90% accuracy.

Samantha has learned 19/26 letters and their contractions. She is 97% in reading the contractions and 99% in reciting the contractions. She knows how to braille the capital sign, question mark, and the comma.

Samantha's Annual Goal: Samantha will demonstrate proficiency in Braille by tactually reading, brailling, and reciting the remainder of the Braille alphabet letters and their contractions, 4 whole word signs, 9 punctuation marks, 22 short-form words, numbers 0-9, and braille 10 classroom spelling lists with 90% accuracy.

How can I deny this face?

Samantha and I went for a walk tonight. We got a little busy so it had to wait until after dark. She wanted to bring a flashlight so we could see where we were going.

We went to The Apple and then got some hot chocolate. We talked about her concerns. She said she has been feeling bad because I don't spend as much time with her. She seemed pretty cheerful though. She talked and talked and talked and talked and talked, all the way around the block.

At one point she said, "I'm glad we are spending some time together Mom."

Hopefully I'll be able to continue that with all the kids. But, it seems my sweet Sam might need just a bit more.

Can I Clone Myself?

There is only one of me.

A fact that can cause much guilt.

Yesterday my sister picked up the girls to play at her house. Samantha made me stay outside and wait for her to pick them up. They spent a good 5 hours with her, and I assumed they were having a good time.

When I went to pick them up, Leslie told me that Samantha had been crying and fighting the whole time. At one point the girls were coloring on the sidewalk and Sam went over to Tori and kicked her. Leslie had her sit on the stairs in time out and then sat down to talk to her. She asked her what was wrong, and why she was having such a bad day.

Samantha's response was, "My Mom works all the time. She works and plays with Jason." This all coming out of a onslaught of tears.

Leslie explained that I have to work, and that Jason needs me to help him.

With Sam's big eyes and her lip pouting she said, "But, she can play with me...."

So this morning I was woken up to Samantha asking if we could go for a walk today. Hopefully I can find time for All my kids..........sigh.

Easter

My camera's battery died and I can't find my charger!!! It actually had enough juice to download pictures though so here they are!!!

We had our Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Siddoway's house on Saturday. Duncan was convinced he was going to be rich after the hunt, and didn't get any egg's with Money in them. As a mater of fact, he was such a sweet boy and was helping some of the other kids find eggs. I'm pretty sure he gave all the money eggs away. He thought he knew the system, and gave all the big eggs away and kept the small eggs.

Tori just had fun! She always enjoys hanging with her cousins. Running around doesn't hurt either.

Samantha wanted to find as much candy as was humanly possible. Forget the money eggs. She has downed all her candy since then. I think I'm just relieved it's gone now.

Jason, didn't want to look for eggs. He really hated me taking away the first candy he found and put it in his basket. That was it. He cried almost the whole time. I finally gave up and went and collected the items that were set out that had one for each kid. Then just let him be.


Then on Sunday was Easter and Conference and Grandma and Grandpa Child's.

The kids woke up bright and early to find their baskets. Strangely enough, I've started to detest the Easter Bunny. I know, weird. Every other holiday I want pictures of everything, but this holiday is one I want to sleep in. So Brett got up and took pictures of them with their baskets.

Duncan went to General Conference with Grandpa Child. Duncan has a new found appreciation for the Prophets and wants to go to Conference every 6 months. He took 5 pages of notes and kept the tickets for his journal.

We had the Easter Egg hunt at Grandma Child's house when Duncan and Grandpa got home. The funny thing was, my mother had called the previous week and asked me to bring 10 eggs per kid. I apparently didn't listen very well, because I thought she meant 10 eggs for each kid HER family not each kid in mine. So I filled about 125 eggs. =)

I other words, the kids had a ton of eggs to find. We were having a really hard time finding places to hide them.

Jason did discover the joy of Easter egg hunts. He discovered that there was candy inside these little plastic things. So we had a hard time keeping him away from the eggs before the other kids got to hunt.

Wall Pictures

I finally got my pictures up. Not very well, I might admit. But I do think it looks pretty good. Brett says that one day he'll make some frames for our family pictures but, I decided they needed to be up on the wall so I went to the Family Dollar and spent a whole 5 dollars on frames. I'm sure it will look much better when Brett tackles it.
